Doosan Babcock – Update

avatar-bodyA little update on our Higher Product Design visit to Doosan Babcock in October of 2009.  As a result of this, we have featured in the company (and World Wide) magazine ‘The Edge’.

This magazine is produced quarterly by the company and i was given a copy over the Christmas break.  I have scanned and attached the article in this post for you to have a wee read.

Well done again to all the pupils who attended the visit.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

avatar-bodyA very Happy New Year to everyone.  You may have noticed that Teach Me Tekkie looks a little but different as i have decided to update things for Twenty-Ten.

I hope you all had a great break and that Santa was good to you all, Mr B got loads of socks and five, yes 5 aftershaves, so i reckon that Santa thought i have smelly feet an smell a lot!

The weather has been terrible ever since we stopped but this has given me time to prepare for the new term, we now have our first ever Higher Product Design Prelim paper ready to go!

I also want to say a big hi to Mr Smith our technician who will be retiring at the start of February.  Mr Smith has been our department technician for years and i for one will be sad to see him go – but i do hope he enjoys his retirement.  I will post more on this as the time approaches.

So, welcome back and i really hope you enjoy the new look, get studying and keep using TmT – after all 5000+ hits in 6 months…

…somebody must be learning something on here!

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR WINNER

Congratulations to Michael of Mr B’s S3 class for winning the design a Christmas Card competition.

Mrs B decided on the winning entry and for his time, Michael wins the MP4 player and a personalised copy of his card. Runners up Charles and Victoria both get a wee selection box.

Thank you to everyone who entered and keep on watching for more competitions throughout 2010.

INCREDIBLE BLOGGING

Have a look at this clip of my blog page count hit since Mid May 2009.  I know that nearly 2000 hits is really good for an Edublog in 6 months BUT…

Look at the real HITS we have had!

Look at the real HITS we have had!

8,500 page views with over half of them people who come back to the site – that means that TmT is being used on average 47 times a day and 1,400 times a month!!!

Add this to the thousands of hits the TmT YouTube site has and i think we have made Edublogging a MASSIVE success in JP.
