ROCK BAND the Countdown…

Hi guys. Exam fever is upon us and our Rock Band project is hotting up. To date, our S3 Graphics pupils have formed teams and created a Band logo, produced draft Tour Posters and T-Shirt designs, CD Album covers and Charts showing predicted album sales over the next year. Great stuff!!

The jamming sessions are getting serious too. Pupils now have Beatles Rock Band and Lego Rock Band to chose songs from – the playlists are awesome. The standings after our recent jamming sessions are

Graphic Rockers – 1,170,260

The Renegadez – 989,616

4 Aces – 860,204

Rollin Rockers – 748,527

Airr – 688,124

Things are gonna get even more serious as each band has the guest passes to compete in the upcoming BATTLE OF THE BANDS competition. Sometime in June, all pupils are invited to form bands and enter a massive competition with the top 5 bands (after 2 jamming sessions) joining the Technical bands in a showdown to the final 2. The final 2 bands will each battle it out playing The Who’s Superbowl 2010 Jam which is a mix of ‘Who are you’, ‘Wont get fooled again’ and ‘Baba O’Riley’.

The song is 15 minutes long and is a test of endurance and skill!

Its S3 Exam Feedback Time Again

Yeah guys you guessed it. Its the time of year i get to ask you for some feedback on your exam performance recently. I have produced an online form that you can find HERE where you can quickly and easily fill in the details.

You will be needing your grades for that and you can get this from your report or from me in class.

I hope to do this task this week with both my lovely S3 classes.

Beatles Rock Band Latest Update.

Time for a little update on the Beatles Rock Band project in our S3 Graphics class.

The Girls beat the Boys

The Bands are now playing the game in career mode which means, no more picking favourite songs and no more picking the big hitters! The pupils have found this twist really challenging but have shown great spirit in supporting each others groups as they play. The groups are also getting used to updating their band blogs – check out the blogs on the right of the page.

The latest scores from the band sessions are below. The Graphic Rockers have passed the MILLION POINT MARK – well done guys. The Renegadez are not that far behind though!

Graphic Rockers – 1,110,771 points

Renegadez – 913,959 points

4 Aces - 756,025 points

Rollin Rockers - 703,281 points

Airr – 619,184 points

In a new twist the Girls have drawn level with the boys in the battle of the sexes competition. It is now 1-1.

Great stuff so far. The next tasks for the Bands include producing their own CD’s for the tour and some technical drawing and design of CD Jewel Cases.
